Our communities are forging opportunities to honour our past and dream of better futures, yet many of us are still in the depths of hardships amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Black people in Canada have been disproportionately impacted by the pandemic through higher unemployment rates, eviction notices, and COVID-19 hospitalizations. That is why we are inviting Black people in Canada to apply for the Black Mutual Aid Fund.
We have already distributed $250 microgrants to 1180 Black individuals and families to support their needs. We have raised a total of $431,500 for community microgrants, which means that we are able to provide 454 more Black people with funding.
